The document layout follows the company’s country

Short answer

An invoice is not the same document everywhere. Fields, numbering and tax treatment follow the country the company is registered in — and a customer with an EU VAT number gets a reverse-charge document rather than a taxed one.

Invoices, credit notes and reverse-charge documents in one list.

Country first, template second

Most tools give you one invoice template and a settings page for the differences. That works until the difference is structural — a field that must exist, a tax that must not be charged.

Here the country sets which fields exist. Changing it changes new documents, not the ones already issued.

Credit notes belong in the same list

A credit note is part of the same story as the invoice it corrects. Keeping it elsewhere makes the customer balance hard to explain and the tax report hard to check.

Frequently asked questions

Does it issue reverse-charge invoices?

Yes. When the customer has an EU VAT number and the conditions apply, the document is issued as reverse charge with the required wording.

Can I use my own numbering?

Yes. Numbering is set per document type and runs continuously.
