A supplier is an account, not a contact card

Short answer

Every supplier carries a running balance, total purchases, overdue amount and last activity. Tags group them the way your business thinks about them — by what they supply, not by alphabet.

Suppliers work like customers: a running balance and the last activity date.

The question is “what do we owe”, not “what is their phone number”

Contact details matter once. The balance matters every week, and it is the thing a contact list cannot answer.

Purchases, payments and credit notes all move the same balance, so the number on the row is the number to pay.

Suppliers abroad, in their own currency

A supplier invoiced in euros stays in euros; the conversion happens for reporting, at the rate of each document’s own date.

Frequently asked questions

Can a supplier also be a customer?

Yes. The two balances are kept separately so a purchase does not quietly offset a sale.

Are foreign-currency suppliers supported?

Yes, with each document recorded at its own day’s rate and FX differences reported separately.
