Your own store is a channel like any other

Short answer

Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, PrestaShop, OpenCart, Wix and others connect the same way as a marketplace. The difference is on the money side: there is no marketplace commission, and the payment arrives from a processor as a collection.

Own store sits in the same channel list as the marketplaces.

Same orders, different money

On a marketplace the money arrives as a payout with commission already deducted. On your own store it arrives from a payment processor, with its own fee and its own settlement delay.

Describing both with one sentence would be wrong, so the product records them differently — and the channel comparison still works.
