Count first, adjust after approval

Short answer

A count sheet is opened per warehouse, counted quantities are entered, and a difference list comes out. Stock is corrected only when that list is approved — a count is not an adjustment until someone says it is.

A count produces a difference list; stock moves only once it is approved.

A miscount should not become a correction

Writing counted quantities straight into stock means a typo becomes a permanent adjustment that looks like shrinkage.

The difference list makes the change reviewable: large differences can be recounted before anything moves.

Frequently asked questions

Does counting change stock immediately?

No. It produces a difference list that adjusts stock after approval.

Can I count one section at a time?

Yes. Counts are per warehouse and can be limited to a catalogue or tag.
